We proud to be featured in Nottingham Post , where our manager Jean Bertram gives interview . Plastic surgery in Nottingham: We find out which treatments are top – and how much they cost
Breast enlargements, nose jobs and anti-wrinkle injections once seemed solely the preserve of the rich and famous.
But today, plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures are becoming more accessible to the general public, with thousands of people choosing to enhance their bodies every year.
And practitioners in Nottinghamshire have revealed what the most popular treatments are in our county.
Angels Twelve is a hair salon and beauty clinic in Mapperley which has a private aesthetics clinic providing non-surgical clinical treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections and deep thread facelifts, where threads are placed under the skin to lift the structure from the inside.
Jean Bertram, general manager, said: “We only enhance the natural. We don’t send anyone out looking like the celebrities in the magazines, it is all about the natural, fresh look, where people would look at you and think ‘she looks fresh’ and not ‘she’s had lots of work done’.”
As for the most popular procedure at the clinic – it was facial fillers that won the day – with prices for those procedures ranging from £200 to £300.
Mrs Bertram added: “For people who don’t like their jowls, we will do a consultation and look at different aspects of the face, whether it is resting, smiling, sad, all the mobility of the face. Quite often we would lift the lower face by filling the upper face.
“We are seeing ladies moving on as well. Ladies will have had fillers for a few years and then move on to having threads in the face, which we can offer at the clinic here.
“The other thing is that everyone wants lovely lips – we do lots of lips here. These are not the fat lips you see on celebrities, it’s still the natural look.
“If someone comes in with lips you would see in the magazines and they wanted more, we would turn them away from here because we wouldn’t want our name associated with that kind of treatment.”
Facial fillers, known as dermal fillers, are performed by injecting a solution that fills the soft tissue under the skin. It is used to increase volume and definition in areas including lips and cheeks.
Depending on the type of material being injected, the effects can last from a few months to 18 months.
But it’s not just woman that Angels Twelve caters for. Many of the men who walk through the door are partners of current patients, according to Mrs Bertram.
For male patients, anti-wrinkle injections is among the most popular treatments, with prices ranging from £175 for treatment to one area and up to £295 for three areas.
Mrs Bertram said it is still the case that these treatments can be performed over a client’s lunch break.
Angels Twelve was set up by Dr Olha Vorodyukhina, who has practised facial aesthetics for more than nine years.
Capitalising on the success of her latest venture – and with more people aiming to become practitioners – she recently set up a training centre and Aesthetic clinic in Derby Road, Long Eaton.
This side of the business will be used primarily to teach medical professionals how to safely administer aesthetic medical treatments.
